The award was announced as part of the U.S. Department of State's "Awards for Justice" program. The US government has announced a reward of up to $10 million for information that will allow the identification or location of members of the Sandworm APT group, linked by Western experts to Russian intelligence agencies. The award was announced as part of the US Department of State's Rewards for Justice program. The program was established to provide monetary bonuses to whistleblowers who provide data that can identify or locate attackers who carry out cyberattacks on critical US infrastructure on behalf of foreign governments.

On Tuesday, April 26, the State Department announced a reward for information about six alleged officers of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces accused of carrying out cyber attacks on critical US infrastructure. In 2020, the US Department of Justice filed charges against them for being part of the elite hacking division of Sandworm (other names are Telebots, Voodoo Bear, and Iron Viking).

All six are charged with conspiracy to commit computer fraud and misuse, conspiracy to commit wire fraud, wire fraud, damage to secure computers, and aggravated identity theft.

You can provide information about wanted hackers anonymously through the Rewards for Justice website on the Tor network. In addition, the authorities are also interested in information about the cyber-ransomware REvil and DarkSide, North Korean hackers and non-governmental cybercriminals attacking US companies and critical infrastructure.
