For several months, cybercriminals had access to the computer network of the office of the Czech President Milos Zeman and stole information. According to RIA Novosti, IT specialists found that data from the computer network was transmitted to foreign IP addresses. The nature of the stolen information is not disclosed. Currently, experts from the Office for the Protection of Private Information are conducting an investigation.

Press Secretary of the President of the Czech Republic, Jiří Ovčáček, declined to comment on the situation. The Office of Cyber Security, the National Committee to Combat Organized Crime and Military Intelligence also refused to confirm or deny their participation in the investigation.

Recall that last year the Czech secret services exposed the activities of a group of hackers who planned to attack targets in the Czech Republic and other European countries. According to the head of the Security and Information Service (Bezpečnostní informační služba, BIS) Michal Koudelka, the “spy network” was created by the FSB and received funding from the Russian embassy in Prague. In addition, according to the BIS report, in 2018, Russian and Chinese cybercriminals regularly carried out cyber attacks on the Czech Republic.
