The leakage of data from the country's securities commission may shock Argentina's financial markets.
Argentina's National Securities Commission ( CNV ) was the victim of a cyber attack, allegedly by Medusa. Hackers require a ransom of $ 500,000 during the week, threatening to leak 1.5 TB of CNV documents and databases.
Confidential files and records that could potentially shock Argentina's financial markets are reportedly at risk of leakage. CNV has not yet issued an official hacking statement.
The incident marks another major attack on the growing Medusa cyber attack list. It is noteworthy that a group of ransomware recently claimed responsibility for an attack on a major cancer center in Australia, during which hackers demanded a ransom of $ 100 thousand.
Note that Medusa – is the group that posted the source code Microsoft Bing and Cortana on the network . According to experts, the leak is about 12 GB and is part of 37 GB stolen by the Lapsus group in 2022 . Microsoft did not provide any comments on the leak, so the authenticity of the hacker words is not confirmed.
