The company says they are evaluating the situation.
On Friday, South American hacker group Lapsus$ leaked 190GB of data obtained from a cyberattack on South Korean tech giant Samsung.
The hackers claim to have also obtained the bootloader source code for all recent Samsung devices and access to code related to highly sensitive features such as biometric authentication and encryption on the device.
The leak also allegedly includes sensitive data from Qualcomm. The entire database contains about 190 GB of data and is actively distributed via torrents.
Samsung representatives said they are currently trying to assess the situation and the extent of the damage.
The Lapsus$ group has claimed responsibility for the recent Nvidia hack, demanding that the chipmaker remove restrictions on cryptocurrency mining in some of the company's GPUs. It is not yet clear what demands Lapsus$ has on Samsung. The group has previously stated that its actions were not politically motivated.
