The network revealed that the FBI used the GrayKey device to gain access to the locked iPhone 11 Pro Max, Forbes reports.
The unlocked phone belonged to Baris Ali Koch. The phone was seized during a Koch search on charges of helping his convicted brother escape from the United States.
According to Koch’s lawyer, Baris Ali blocked the iPhone 11 Pro Max with a password and Face ID and didn’t provide the unlock data to investigators.
From the report, it can be concluded that FBI employees took advantage of the opportunities provided by Grayshift, a company that releases GrayKey, which can bypass iPhone security protocols to extract data.
