Apple has published a semi-annual report on how often governments across countries have requested user data.

According to Apple in its report, from January 1 to June 30, 2019, the company received 31,778 requests for the transfer of user data. Authorities demanded information about the owners of certain devices and purchases, as well as data on customer service.

The leaders in terms of the number of requests in the first half of 2019 were Germany (13,558) and the United States (4,796). The number of account requests (for example, iCloud and iTunes user account information) reached 6,480 in 6 months, most of which came from the United States - 3,619.

Apple also published some information about US national security-related requests made in accordance with with the “Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act”. For 6 months, FISA received from 0 to 499 user data requests.

Apple also received from 0 to 499 letters about national security from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) requesting information about more than 2 thousand users. As noted in the document, these requests were not approved by the courts.
