The West Midlands Regional Organized Crime Unit has issued a warning poster.
The West Midlands Regional Organized Crime Unit issued a poster advising parents to contact law enforcement officers if their child has installed Kali Linux OS, virtual machine, Tor browser, Metasploit software or Discord messenger on their personal computer, The Register reported.
“If you find something from this list on your computer or if you have a child whom you suspect of cybercrime, let us know so that we can give advice and tell them about more positive ways of entertainment,” the poster says .
Along with the West Midlands administration logo, the memo also contains the logo of the UK National Crime Agency (NCA). As representatives of the agency said on Twitter, the NCA has nothing to do with the production of this poster.
“There are many tools that children with advanced technical skills can use. Some of which can be used for both legal and illegal purposes, so it is very important that parents and children know how to use these tools safely, ”the department said.
WMROCU employees have not yet commented on this situation.
