Popular Linux browsers such as Konqueror, Falkon, and Qutebrowser can no longer be used for authorization in Google services, as they are not reliable enough. How long the tech giant "banned" the above browsers is not known, however, news about this appeared on the Reddit forum recently.

When you try to log in to services through Konqueror and Falkon, a notification appears recommending that you use a different browser, since Konqueror and Falkon may be insecure, writes Bleeping Computer. The notification has a “Learn More” button, by clicking on which, the user will be taken to the Google tech support page. As reported on the page, the browser could be blocked for several reasons:

The browser does not support JavaScript or JavaScript is disabled in it;

The browser uses unsafe, unsupported extensions;

The browser uses frameworks for automatic testing;

The browser is embedded in another application.

However, some users can still log in to Google services through Falkon, which makes the reasons for blocking browsers even more incomprehensible. Some believe that the company conducts tests related to various versions of QtWebEngine or account settings. Google itself has not yet commented on browser blocking.
