Internet scammers have prepared a New Year's "surprise" for those who believe in New Year's miracles. We will tell you why we are sure that the scammers are Russians at the end of the article. But first - more about the essence of divorce.

Scammers reach out to users who have posted ads on the OLX website and send them on behalf of the "administrators" in private messages a notification that the company is giving prizes on the occasion of the New Year. To get your prize, just go to the special site OLX2021.com. On this site, the user is asked to guess which of the holiday boxes contains the coveted prize. Whatever boxes you try to open, success awaits you on the third try - it is in the last box that there is a holiday certificate, no less than $ 3060.

The operator will provide you with detailed instructions on how to get your winnings. She will ask for her "consent" to receive the prize and send a link to a special form. To get a win, you just need to indicate the card number. For the sake of curiosity, we entered a fake number to check if the scammers are able to recognize a fake. Surprise: the operation failed. Is the circuit so smart that it can tell a simple set of numbers from a real bank card? No, everything is much simpler - the reason for the rejection of the transfer is the wrong currency.

But it doesn't matter. You have the opportunity to make a conversion and still get money on your card. True, for a modest commission, and this time, you will need to enter not only the card number, but also all other data - the expiration date, the owner's name and the CVV code, that is, everything that will give fraudsters the opportunity to access the contents of your card and dispose of it at your own discretion. But this form already knows how to recognize a real card number or a fake one. Therefore, it will not work simply to mock scammers.

By the way, if you do not rush to get a prize, but take a closer look at the site, you will notice that the payment gateway is somehow completely unknown. User support links are not working. It seems that the site was made as simple as possible, for the sake of one goal - to quickly rip off money from you. But this is good - the more suspicious, the more chances that the gullible user will notice the catch.

By the way, thanks to the vigilance of individual OLX users, the administration is now trying to ban these messages:

But we are sure that scammers will soon find new ways to bypass the blocking. Therefore, just be aware that scammers have become active and do not click on suspicious external links.

And here is the confirmation that the Ukrainians are huddled up by scammers from Rostov:
